Manolis, the Papa Wemba of Eressos, that we love and appreciate so much, he decided to leave us this week.
We will all miss him .
The funeral is on Sunday at 12 o’clock at Panagia church.
I hope you can attend the ceremony and also prepare a talk about Manolis .
Manolis is a self-taught artist and a man with a deep philosophy of life, with a touching gaze towards the universe. Manolis is a true ambassador for his village of Eressos, on the island of Lesbos.
Manolis lived in Eressos, surrounded by friends who loved him. He knew how to share his art and his philosophy through the wooden objects he created with his heart.
In 2022, I went to Eressos in Lesbos and I made film about him, Manolis Papa Wemba d’Eressos. I wanted to show how human, how Philosophe and how passionate is Manolis artist.

Thanks to Vassiliki Papageorgiou the film has been shown in Eressos and in Mytilene . Manolis was presenting his films and was enjoying talking with audiences.

Manolis, Le Papa Wemba d’ Eressos, est un artist autodidact, un homme avec philosophie de la vie avec un regard touchant vers l’universe. Manolis gets un vary ambassador de son village d’ Eressos à Lesbos.
Manolis est un artist qui a venue avec une phoilosophie de vie entouré des amis qui l’ adoraoient.
Manolis a vécu à Eressos entouré des amis qui l’amait. Il a su transmettre son art , sa philosphie avec ses objets en boss qui crée avec son coeur
J’ai voulu montrer des grands et petites leçons de vie que cet artist passionné nous montre à traverse de sa vie, son art et sa philosophie….à travers un film que j’ai tournée en 2022.
